Yesterday, TLC and its upcoming Cupcake Dreams (wt) stars, entrepreneur baking sisters Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis, mingled and chatted with 50 parenting bloggers at a Silicon Valley Moms Blog event in Washington, D.C. Sophie and Katherine showed off their decorating prowess, turning unfrosted Georgetown Cupcakes into potted flowers and plants complete with candy ladybugs and gummy worms. Bloggers attending the D.C. event got to sample Georgetown Cupcake’s delicious array of flavors while picking up some decorating tips and kids’ party ideas.
Cupcake Dreams, which premieres on TLC on July 16, follows Sophie and Katherine as they run Georgetown Cupcake — a small cupcake shop that they have transformed into a sweet success. The sisters gave up their corporate jobs and risked their life savings to follow their hearts in the kitchen, armed only with their grandmother’s recipes and their sisterly bond. Each episode will go beyond the frosting to uncover the secret of Sophie and Katherine’s success and follow the challenges they face as the business rapidly expands and is poised to explode on the national scene.
Cupcake Dreams is part of TLC Summer — a lineup of exciting new and returning series that includes 11 new shows, nine new seasons of returning series and 19 specials.
We had a sweet time hanging out with Sophie, Katherine and the bloggers. Thank you to the Silicon Valley Moms Blog for hosting an excellent event, and to the DC Metro Moms for their enthusiasm (and appetites!).
