A Special OWN Greeting at One Discovery Place

With the arrival of a new year, many of us are looking for inspiration and aiming for self-improvement — perhaps finding more work/life balance, giving back to our community more or being better about taking time to exercise. Over the years, Oprah Winfrey has inspired millions, and she continued to do so with the launch of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network on January 1.

With over one million viewers tuning in on New Year’s Day, it appears many of you turned to Oprah and her all-stars to find inspiration to live your best life. In the spirit of OWN, today our employees in Silver Spring were treated to the New You Wellness Fair, where they could check out tools, resources and programs and make their OWN resolutions.

To find out more about OWN, check out the new OWN website and make sure to follow OWN on Facebook and Twitter.

Happy New Year!

I want Discovery Health back! I loved this channel and now I can’t find all of my shows because Opra took over it!

  • sindee75

What happened to Dr. G & Mystery Diagnosis? A group of us loved watching those shows. Will Dr. G and Mystery Diagnosis be back on?

    Oprah, please bring it back!

PLEASE BRING MY OLD DISCOVERY HEALTH BACK!!! I miss my old shows…adoption stories, Trauma, Dr. G. Oprah taking this channel is the WORST thing that Discovery has ever done.

  • C Christi

This is the biggest let-down that I thought I could ever experience. I didn’t realize how much I would miss my Discovery Health shows..(ie. Trauma in the life of the ER, Adoption Stories, Dr. G and Pregnant and…) until big, bad Oprah had to come in and throw a bunch of money at a station that was well-liked the was it was. If this doesn’t drop the ratings, I don’t know what will!

My mother and I would always watch Trauma in the life of ER which pretty much guided both of us to go to college to be RNs and now Oprah decides to take Discovery Health away and bring her show to her own network? Her show still gets played on abc and on every other network I dont understand why she has to have her own network and take away Discovery Health such a big let down Discovery Health should be brought back!
    Sincerely,
    Sky and Ker
