Discovery Education Helps Science Education Go Digital in Florida

Discovery Education Science TechbookOn Tuesday night, President Obama gave his State of the Union Address to Congress and millions of Americans. One of the subjects he touched upon was education, which is at the core of Discovery Communications — through our educational programming and online content and our Discovery Education division.

In the address, President Obama challenged the country to adopt digital textbooks to help students learn skills to better compete in the global economy. In another indication of the growing movement toward digital textbooks, Florida just approved the Discovery Education Science Elementary Techbook for Florida for classroom use (joining Indiana, Louisiana and Oregon in adopting Discovery Education’s digital science service).

Times certainly have changed since I was an elementary school student, but it’s empowering to see education and technology evolve together.
