TLC is Bringing on the ‘Bling’

September 20, 2012 | by kdelmonico

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering where the bling-tastic creations featured on My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding come from, wonder no more! Meet Sondra Celli, the Boston-based designer whose head-turning creations are the subject of TLC’s new show, Bling It On, premiering tonight at 10/9c.

Proving that the bride is always right, on tonight’s episode Sondra works on crafting a neon wedding gown for a Vegas bride who’s looking to stand out on her big day. Something tells me that if she was walking down the aisle in one of Sondra’s designs, she succeeded in that goal!

Bling It On premieres tonight on TLC at 10pm ET/PT.

I used to be a fan of the Gypsy Wedding shows
because I thought the culture was exciting and interesting, but lately the
shows have just been embarrassing to the Romani people. I feel like the
shows have become less and less informative and more about lying and over
exaggerating to entertain the general populace and has basically done to
Gypsies what Jersey Shore did to Italians. I just watched this documentary
something 4th Nail about Gypsies that brought me back to why I liked
the show at first because it was so honest and well done and it just kind of solidified why I no longer enjoy these shows
now. I can see why they wanted to keep their culture a secret in the first
place because people will just do what they always do, exploit them. Which is
unfortunate because I feel like as a culture they suffered enough.
