Investigation Discovery’s ‘Disappeared’ Leads to Location of Missing Woman

January 31, 2011 | by gweiswasser

ID LogoInvestigation Discovery‘s Disappeared follows the unpredictable twists of missing person cases, tracking investigations aimed at answering how and why people have vanished.  Each episode searches for clues hidden beneath seemingly everyday behavior that may indicate whether or not the person left voluntarily or if foul play was involved. Disappeared also asks viewers to share fresh leads in hopes of deciphering what truly happened to the missing and hopefully providing answers and closure to their loved ones left behind.

The series had a breakthrough last week when missing Michelle McMullen was arrested after police in Oakland, California received a tip from a viewer who had seen McMullen’s Disappeared episode.  McMullen disappeared on September 29, 2008 from Harrisburg, PA while police were investigating the theft of more than $2,000 from her former place of employment.  Investigators believed she went on the run, while her parents feared that she was abducted, as she had left behind a six year-old.  McMullen is currently waiting to be extradited to Harrisburg where she will face charges of theft and forgery.

Disappeared airs on Investigation Discovery on Mondays at 9pm ET/PT.  Watch a clip of the original McMullen Disappeared episode below and see who else is still missing, as you could hold the lead that could close another unsolved case.
