This week marked the official start of summer across the northern hemisphere and the return of Silverdocs, the annual AFI-Discovery Channel film festival, in Silver Spring. Silverdocs, now in its ninth year, has quickly become one of the top film festivals in the U.S. and includes seven days of film screenings along with a concurrent five-day conference supporting documentary filmmakers.
With close to 30,000 people descending upon Silver Spring (also home to our headquarters), the creativity and excitement is palpable. If you’re in the D.C. area, I hope you’ll take advantage of the weekend (Silverdocs runs through Sunday, June 26) to take in a screening. You can find out more about all of the films online and purchase tickets there, too.
If you have attended the festival or do, drop us a note below and let us know what you saw and, most importantly, what you thought!
