The Search for Bigfoot Continues on Animal Planet This Sunday

November 10, 2012 | by aharris

Finding BigfootOn Discovery Channel, the hunt is for gold; meanwhile, on TLC, the search is for the perfect wedding dress. But, on Animal Planet, the search is for something I am not sure many people would want to encounter: a sasquatch.

Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot chronicles the adventures of the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) as they search North America and around the world for sasquatches (also known as yowies in Australia or orang-pendek in Indonesia). Through photos, videos, interviews and new technology, the BFRO team is out to prove, once and for all, that these mysterious creatures exist.

This season viewers will also be treated to a special pre-show moderated by series Executive Producer Keith Hoffman, bringing together the team to share greater detail and information that does not make it into the final cut. Don’t miss the return of Finding Bigfoot Sunday, November 11 at 10pm ET/PT (with the Meet the Squatchers special at 9pm ET/PT)…only on Animal Planet!

Stars Come Out for Discovery Communications’ Upfront

April 6, 2012 | by aharris

Yesterday, Discovery Communications returned to Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City to host its annual Upfront for an audience of advertisers and press. While I shared news yesterday here about new and returning series coming to our networks, we wanted to give you a glimpse at the action — on stage and backstage — through the photos below.

I’ve been fortunate to attend several Upfront presentations and what always sticks with me is the feeling of family — from the team that works so hard behind the scenes to put on a great show to the talent across our nets that reunite or meet for the first time (where else can you find James Woods and Buddy Valastro both whipping out their iPhones to get a picture together?). I’m certainly proud to be a part of the Discovery family.

Animal Planet is ‘Finding Bigfoot’ on Sunday Night

October 28, 2011 | by gweiswasser

Just in time for Halloween… Animal Planet takes a new look at the mystery of Bigfoot in Finding Bigfoot: Birth of a Legend this Sunday at 9pm ET/PT. On this two-hour special, the Bigfoot Field Research Organization team trudges deep into California’s Redwood forest and uses new technology to investigate one of the most infamous and disputed pieces of Bigfoot evidence ever – the Patterson-Gimlin footage that allegedly captured Bigfoot in motion. Here’s a sneak peek:

Do you believe in Bigfoot? Check out these pieces of evidence, and rate whether you think they are credible or not.

Animal Planet & Science Are NY-Bound for Comic Con

October 13, 2011 | by aharris

Discovery’s networks are no strangers to Cons – CatchCon, San Diego Comic-Con… not to mention those criminals on Investigation Discovery. So it’s logical that beginning tomorrow visitors to New York Comic-Con will be treated to panels and more courtesy of Animal Planet and Science.

Finding Bigfoot TEamOn Friday, the cast of Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot (Bobo, Cliff, Matt and Ranae) will be joined by 30 Rock‘s Judah Friedlander for an hour-long panel to talk about the hit series and the network’s Halloween special, Finding Bigfoot: Birth of a Legend. The action starts at 6:30pm, but only the first 100 will receive a special Bigfoot t-shirt!

Science LogoThe following day, Science is bringing Comic Con attendees a chance to meet Rod Roddenberry (son of famed Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry) and the team from Obscura Antiques featured in the quirky and addictive Oddities. Rod’s autograph session starts at 10:30am in the Autograph Pavillon and Evan, Mike and Ryan from Oddities will be there at 4:15pm. However, the can’t miss portion of the day is the network’s 1:15pm panel featuring Trek Nation, Oddities and Ridley Scott’s Prophets of Science Fiction (with Dr. Michio Kaku, to boot!)

Not in New York? Don’t worry. You can follow Animal Planet and Science Channel on Facebook and Twitter for updates:
