Discovery Channel Kicks Off Mega Week With “Eaten Alive”

December 4, 2014 | by kdelmonico

Eaten AliveKicking off on Sunday, December 7, Discovery Channel is bringing viewers a week of jam-packed, super-sized programming with Mega Week.

The epic week will kick off on Sunday at 8PM ET/PT when James Franco and Seth Rogen attempt to survive 21 days Naked and Awkward. The 21-day survival challenge, complete with nightly spooning to keep warm, is a Naked and Afraid not to be missed.

Later, viewers will finally get to see the show everyone’s been talking about: Eaten Alive.  Snake researcher and conservationist Paul Rosolie has dedicated his career to studying the Giant Green Anaconda, the largest and most powerful snake in the world and the top predator in the Amazon.

This past summer, over a 60-day period, crews documented Rosolie’s expedition to an enchanted and hidden realm deep within the Amazonian jungle, searching for the world’s largest anaconda. If Rosolie succeeds in capturing this giant beast, he’s going to attempt something no one has ever dared: to be eaten alive by the anaconda.

Since Rosolie’s goal was to persevere through the constriction and potential ingestion deep into the belly of the beast, he relied on a custom-built suit he designed for his protection.  Constructed by Rosolie and his team of engineers working alongside herpetologists, the suit was built to ensure the snake’s safety just as much as it was to protect Rosolie’s life.

Eaten Alive premieres on Sunday at 9pm ET/PT and don’t miss the full Discovery Mega Week lineup.
