SXSW PanelPickerIt’s that time of the year again…PanelPicker voting for SXSW Interactive and SXSWedu 2014. If you missed us at SXSW last year, SXSW Interactive Festival, held annually in Austin, brings together leaders in technology and digital creativity to showcase the best technologies of today and explore what’s to come tomorrow, while SXSWedu brings together leaders from the education landscape to collaborate, create and change how we teach and learn.

This year, we’re excited to present several panels (tackling everything from live multiplatform to Puppy Bowl), and we hope you’ll take a moment to support us and our co-panelists by creating a PanelPicker account (it’s easy) and giving us a thumbs up and sharing your thoughts in the comments.

SXSW has launched its PanelPicker for the 2013 SXSWedu conference taking place March 4-7 in Austin, TX. Discovery Education is thrilled to have four panels and presentations in the running for the conference.

With topics such as Media Companies and Emerging Technology in School and The 21st Century Textbook, Discovery Education’s proposed panels and presentations reflect the team’s forward-looking strategy in the educational technology space. That’s certainly the case here at Discovery Communications, and we’re excited to have five panels/presentaions for your consideration in this year’s PanelPicker. From the captains of Discovery Channel‘s Deadliest Catch candidly discussing how they use social media to connect with their fans to a presentation from our own Beth Rockwood and Bluefin Labs Co-Founder Deb Roy discussing how advertisers partnering with media brands benefits viewers using social media.

SXSWedu 2012 LogoToday, SXSW launched their PanelPicker voting for the second annual SXSWedu taking place March 6-8, 2012 in Austin, TX. A new component to the longstanding SXSW Interactive Festival, SXSWedu focuses on innovations in learning, bringing together a wide variety of education and business professionals who share an interest in 21st Century teaching and learning techniques.

Discovery Education is hoping to take part in this year’s conference and they need your help. Choosing speakers for SXSWedu is a joint effort between the SXSWedu Advisory Board (40%), SXSWedu staff (30%) and the public (30%)…that’s where you come in.

SXSW 2012 LogoToday, SXSW launched their PanelPicker voting for SXSW Interactive 2012. For those new to SXSW, the festival brings together the best of film, interactive and music in Austin, TX. The 19th annual SXSW Interactive Festival kicks off on March 9, 2012 and features the best of online, wireless, gaming and social media…and may include some of the Discovery family.

Discovery Communications has proposed four panels covering social TV (featuring Deadliest Catch‘s Capt. Keith Colburn and Storm ChasersReed Timmer), online news (with the Discovery News team), podcasting (thanks to HowStuffWorks’ Stuff You Should Know team) and on converting women’s interest to general interest online (with HowStuffWorks’ Stuff Mom Never Told You).

Do You Want to See Discovery at SXSW 2011? Get Out the Vote!

SXSW 2011 LogoEach year, tens of thousands of tech-savvy and forward-thinking folks converge upon Austin, Texas for South by Southwest (SXSW). Discovery is hoping to have a presence at SXSW 2011′s Interactive strand (March 11-15) — which is where you come in!

While the SXSW Staff and Advisory Board comprise 70% of the selection, the other 30% is up to the general public through the SXSW PanelPicker. Click on the links below to vote for our panels and help us spread the word through Facebook, Twitter and beyond.
