As we continue to celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month here at Discovery, it only seems fitting that this Saturday marks the return of Pit Bulls & Parolees on Animal Planet.

Pit Bulls & Parolees follows Tia Torres and her efforts to help both the vilified breed of dog and ex-convicts by rehabilitating abused and abandoned pit bulls. We pick up with Tia Torres after she has moved the entire Villalobos operation to New Orleans and the move proves to be just the beginning of the challenges for Tia and her family.

To find out more about the work Villalobos is doing, visit and check out a sneak peek of Saturday’s premiere of Pit Bulls & Parolees, at 10pm ET/PT on Animal Planet.

‘Watch and Give’ with Animal Planet on Saturday

Want to help pit bulls without leaving your couch?

As part of Animal Planet‘s ongoing commitment to make a positive impact in the animal world, the network is asking viewers to tune in to Pit Bulls and Parolees this Saturday night, November 26, to help drive donations to Villalobos Rescue Center, a nonprofit organization featured in the series. The campaign called “You Watch. We Give.” is part of the network’s nonprofit initiative Reach Out. Act. Respond. (R.O.A.R). Based on the number of viewers who watch the new episode of Pit Bulls and Parolees on Saturday at 10 pm ET/PT, funds will be donated to give thanks to Tia Torres for her tireless dedication to pit bulls.

Last year, the “You Watch. We Give.” campaign yielded a donation of $50,000 and more than one million viewers to become the series’ most-watched episode ever.  The 2010 donations paid for half of Villalobos’ yearly vet bill for the 150 dogs Tia houses. The funds allowed her to keep dogs — like Egypt, who needed hip surgery, and Sheriff, who needed intestinal surgery - healthy and ready for adoption.

Here’s more about the show and this R.O.A.R. initiative:

Give Back with Animal Planet’s ‘You Watch. We Give.’ This Weekend

November 23, 2010 | by gweiswasser

If you want to do good this weekend, but you’re feeling lazy after a big Thanksgiving dinner, then we have just the opportunity for you. You can actually make the world a better place just by sitting on your couch and watching TV.

Tia Torres of Villalobos Rescue Center

Animal Planet has announced that it will donate up to $50,000 to the Villalobos Rescue Center, a nonprofit organization featured in Pit Bulls and Parolees, based on the number of viewers who tune into the November 27 episode at 10pm ET/PT. This initiative, called “You Watch. We Give.”, is a first for any Discovery network and part of Animal Planet’s R.O.A.R., a national campaign that leads the way in taking action and being a voice for animals.  The Villalobos Rescue Center, run by Tia Torres,  is a rescue, rehabilitation and placement facility for abused and abandoned pit bulls.

In the special Thanksgiving weekend episode, Devastation, Tia embarks on a road trip to Louisiana and comes face to face with the effects of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans, years after the storm. While there, Tia throws caution to the wind while attempting a dramatic pit bull rescue during a fierce lighting storm.

Learn more about Villalobos and all of the R.O.A.R partners, and don’t miss Pit Bulls and Parolees on Saturday!
