Animal Planet Takes Viewers to the ‘World’s Deadliest Towns’

February 18, 2011 | by gweiswasser

World's Deadliest Towns“Premiere Week” continues here on the Discovery Blog today with World’s Deadliest Towns, a three-part series premiering Monday, February 21,  at 8pm ET/PT on Animal Planet.

Hosted by animal trainer and behavior expert Dave Salmoni, World’s Deadliest Towns takes viewers to places where people and animals remain locked in mortal conflict. From man-eating tigers and homicidal elephants to hippos from hell, Salmoni investigates wildlife war zones where wild animals are pushing back and people are eaten for breakfast.

In the clip below, Salmoni tags along as farmers try to get hippos — which are potentially very dangerous to humans — off of their crops.

Get behind-the-scenes commentary about the three episodes — elephants, hippos and tigers — and check out Dave Salmoni’s photos from his travels to these deadly spots. And then tune in to Animal Planet for all of the danger on Monday night.
