Established in 2007, Discovery Studios is the full-service production studio within Discovery Communications that creates, develops and produces high-quality, innovative original series, specials, and short-form content across multiple genres – from science and natural history, to reality and lifestyle.
With offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Silver Spring, Discovery Studios is one of the largest producers of series and specials across all of Discovery Communications' domestic and international networks, and companies worldwide, averaging over 150 program hours a year.
Some of its most notable programs include the hit series, Hoarding: Buried Alive (currently in its 5th season on TLC), Alaska: The Last Frontier (currently filming season 3 for Discovery Channel), Shark Bites! with Craig Ferguson for Discovery Channel's Shark Week, and Finding Amelia, a fascinating two-hour special on the latest search efforts to find Amelia Earhart (DSC). It is also home to all nine seasons of the legacy franchise, Puppy Bowl for Animal Planet.
