Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific was established in 1994 with the launch of Discovery Channel. Today, there are seven networks brands offered across 32 countries to 458 million cumulative subscribers. Tom Keaveny, executive vice president and managing director, oversees the business from Singapore. Regional offices are located in Bangalore, Beijing, Chennai, Delhi, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Taipei, Tokyo, Shanghai and Sydney.

Discovery offers three programming blocks in China including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Discovery Travel & Living, reaching nearly 280 million cumulative subscribers.

Discovery Channel has been the #1 channel among Asian affluents for 11 consecutive years (Source: PAX 1998 to 2008, all respondents, past 7 days viewership, 10 markets).
