Discovery Health Channel made television history in February by premiering BIRTH DAY LIVE!, a live 10-hour television marathon, celebrating one of life's greatest joys the birth of a child. Going live gives BIRTH DAY LIVE! an added element of immediacy and also reflects Discovery Health Channel's commitment to allowing viewers to experience the real-life drama and miracle of bringing a new life into the world.
THE place for baby, parenting and fitness programming on television, Discovery Health Channel connects with its audience on a personal level with MAKE ROOM FOR BABY. This new show highlights the drama and joy of a new birth combined with the fun and excitement of home makeovers, as designers create a unique baby's room while Mom and Dad are at the hospital. Discovery Health Channel will launch two new series in 2003. ADOPTION STORIES is a true-life, emotionally charged reality series focusing on compelling stories about people around the world who deeply desire to have a family and the children they embrace as their own. I LOST IT features people who have lost substantial amounts of weight.
Actors Ben Affleck, Nicholas Cage and actress/singer Jennifer Lopez are among the celebrities featured in SECRETS OF SUPERSTAR FITNESS, which premieres in primetime this fall. This half-hour of exciting, fast-paced entertainment is filled with fascinating secrets and great ideas for everyone's workout.
Behind-the-scenes programming attracts viewers who tune-in to the life-saving surgeries of SUPER SURGERY, renewed for a second season. LIFELINE and CRITICAL HOUR, two series showcasing the fact-action pace of medical care, round out the channel's programming about real life, medicine and miracles.

To ensure viewers receive the newest, most authoritative information on key health issues, Discovery Health Channel regularly partners with nonprofit organizations that are leaders in their respective fields, such as the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes and the American Heart Association. In the tradition of the Kennedy Center Honors and the AFI Salutes, the DISCOVERY HEALTH CHANNEL MEDICAL HONORS will celebrate the achievements of individual doctors, medical institutions and clinical researchers who have made lifesaving contributions to the field of medicine.
