(New York, N.Y.) Discovery Channel and TLC posted primetime year-over-year gains in November among all key demos, and ranked in the top 5 of all ad-supported cable networks.
In November, Discovery Channel was up 5% in HH (890k vs. 844k), P2+ (1.231k vs. 1.175k) and P25-54 (622k vs. 592k), up 6% in both P18-49 (655k vs. 620k) and M18-49 (426k vs. 401k) and up 7% in M25-54 (404k vs. 379k) versus November 07 in primetime.
Discovery Channel ranked as the #5 cable network for the month among M25-54 delivery and #9 among P25-54 delivery. Fueled by returning series "Mythbusters" and new series "Time Warp" and "Prototype This," Discovery Channel ranked #2 for cable on Wednesday nights among M18-34 delivery, #3 on Tuesday nights among M18-34 delivery boosted by returning series "Dirty Jobs" and new series "Extreme Loggers" and #5 among M25-54 delivery on Sundays driven by "Storm Chasers" and specials, including "JFK: Inside The Target Car" and "Bear Feeding Frenzy."
TLC posted significant gains in key demos, increasing 10% in HH (793k vs. 722k), 9% in P2+ (1.015k vs. 929k), 5% in P25-54 (513k vs. 489k), and 15% in both W25-54 (349k vs. 304k) and W18-49 (378k vs. 328k) versus November 07 in primetime. Fueled by "Jon & Kate Plus Eight," TLC was the #1 ad-supported cable network in November during the 9 p.m. hour for W18-49, W25-54 and W25-49 delivery.
