Changing weather patterns, colliding air masses and 700,000 square miles of flatland American prairie create the ideal conditions for storm chasing in the infamous Tornado Alley. Follow meteorologist Josh Wurman and extreme filmmaker Sean Casey on the trail of Mother Nature’s deadliest and most violent creations. For this team, seeing a tornado is not enough—their goal is to achieve the impossible, and actually go inside. Filming from the turret of his self-designed and -built Tornado Intercept Vehicle, Sean puts his life on the line as he endeavors to get the most elusive tornado footage ever shot. He and his battle-hardened team will risk everything as they drive his 14,000-lb. tank straight into the unknown heart of a deadly twister.
KOPPEL ON DISCOVERY: BREAKING POINT
World Premiere
TheU.S. leads the world in numbers of prisoners behind bars, but no place does it like California. After years of a get-tough-on-crime policy voted in by big margins, the state is forced to deal with unintended consequences. So many people have been incarcerated that the prison system is in collapse, becoming almost unmanageable. This KOPPEL ON DISCOVERY looks at one prison which has more than twice the number of inmates it was built to hold. Riots occur four or five times a year. Drugs and prostitution are a major business, and gangs and racial groups exert most of the control. At issue is how to turn things around before the federal courts order the release of thousands of inmates.

Whether it’s SCUBA diving on the reefs to see a brilliant convergence of color or rappelling down the canyon, touching rock that is many millions of years old, prepare for the feeling of awe that these wonders inspire. What is the future for these monuments in nature? Marvel at the life forces and forms that are NATURAL WONDERS.
