Discovery Channel Ranks #1 in Importance to Enjoyment of Satellite Service in 2008 Beta Research Satellite Dish Subscriber Study

For the 13th consecutive year, Discovery Channel is #1 in importance to the enjoyment of satellite service among total adults, according to results of the 2008 Beta Research Satellite Dish Subscriber Study. Coming in at the top in seven of the eight categories measured, Discovery Channel also ranks #1 as a favorite channel, in network satisfaction, in average perceived value among total adults, in importance to the enjoyment of satellite service among viewers, in aided awareness and in respondents having viewed the network in the past 12 months.

In other notable results, Military Channel ranks as the #1 mid-sized network mentioned as a favorite channel among men. The network is also among the top five mid-sized networks in importance to the enjoyment of satellite and perceived value among men, and in network satisfaction among total adults. Discovery Health earned first place rankings as a favorite mid-sized network among total adults ages 18–34 and 18–49 (tie) and among women ages 18–34.
