Discovery Communications Appoints Brent Spitzer to Vice President, Digital Advertising Sales, Eastern Region

(New York, N.Y.) Discovery Communications today announced the appointment of Brent Spitzer to the role of Vice President, Digital Advertising Sales, Eastern Region. Spitzer will be based at the company's advertising sales headquarters in New York, and will report to Kathleen Kayse, Executive Vice President, Digital Advertising Sales.
In his new position, Spitzer will manage and develop Discovery's digital ad sales business across the Eastern region through the use of Discovery's set of multi-platform assets. He will also be responsible for the creation of digital ad sales offerings and the development of strategic plans.
"Brent is a top-notch leader and a seasoned sales executive who will bring digital experience, creativity and knowledge to Discovery," said Kayse. "He will serve as an instrumental member of the digital sales team as we continue to heighten client interaction and create custom solutions to meet and exceed their needs."
Spitzer joins Discovery Communications from Platform A where he served as Vice President, Northeast Sales. In this role, he led seven regional sales teams, managed a multi-million dollar sales revenue budget and helped plan the reorganization of the Platform A merger. Prior, he was Vice President, AOL, New York Region. Previously, he held several sales positions at AOL Media Networks including New York Regional Sales Director, Regional Sales Director, East Coast Sales, and Account Director, National Sales. Before joining AOL in 2000, Spitzer served as a Sales Account Executive at WAXQ-FM in New York, and began his career as an Assistant Media Buyer at Corinthian Media in New York City.
Spitzer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
He resides in Weston, CT with his wife and three children.
