Discovery Communications Names Doug Seybert Vice President of Marketing for Discovery Emerging Networks

(Silver Spring, Md.) Today Clark Bunting and Wonya Lucas announced Doug Seybert as vice president of marketing for Discovery Emerging Networks.  Since August 2008, Seybert served as vice president of marketing for HD Theater and in this new, expanded role, he will now oversee all four brands in the portfolio - Science Channel, Investigation Discovery, Military Channel and HD Theater.

In his new role as vice president of marketing for Discovery Emerging Networks, Seybert is responsible for developing unique branding campaigns for each network, as well as establishing promotional priorities for network initiatives and franchise programming.  Seybert reports to Wonya Lucas, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Discovery Communications and is a key member of Clark Bunting's executive team for Discovery Emerging Networks.  

Before re-joining Discovery Communications in 2008, Seybert was a consultant at Noetic Media, a digital out-of-home advertising network based outside Washington, D.C.  Previously, he served as director of marketing strategy for TLC, where he was integral to the development of TLC's award-winning "Life Lessons" network branding campaign.  Prior to joining TLC in 2002, Seybert served as the marketing manager for America Online, Inc's Auto Sales and programming teams.  In this role, Seybert created innovative advertising opportunities across all AOL Time Warner interactive properties.  Seybert graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies.
