(Silver Spring, Md.) Discovery Communications today announced that Jackie Tejada has been named Vice President of Operations for Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, reporting to John Honeycutt, Chief Media Technology Officer, and Enrique Martinez, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic.  Tejada is based at the company's technical facility in Miami, Florida.

"Jackie has been a key contributor to Discovery's Latin America and U.S. Hispanic networks' broadcast operations development, ensuring that our networks achieve the highest level of support in all of their initiatives," said Honeycutt.  "I will rely on Jackie to evolve our operational efficiencies as we transition from a physical media archive to a digital environment."

In her new role, Tejada will lead the Media Asset Management and Broadcast Operations teams as well as play a pivotal role in the advancement of the division's integrated technology efforts.  She will be responsible for developing processes that meet the operational command required to support Discovery's Latin American and U.S. Hispanic's networks' business plans, including the upgrade to a completely file-based facility.

An 11 year Discovery veteran, Tejada most recently served as Director of Media Asset Management where her dedication and efforts facilitated the growth of Discovery Networks Latin America's influence by creating and establishing procedures which focused on content distribution and enhanced communication.

With more than 18 years in the television industry, Tejada began her career at WYHS-TV and later joined WSVN-TV Channel 7.  In 1996, she developed an asset management system, which was used by Discovery's Corporate Network Operations teams, and is still being used today by the company's Latin American Network Operations.
