Discovery Emerging Networks Appoints Television Industry Veteran Sara Kozak to Vice President, Production

(Silver Spring, Md.) Deborah Adler Myers, Science Channel general manager and Executive Vice President of Programming for Discovery Emerging Networks announced today the appointment of Sara Kozak to vice president of production for Discovery Emerging Networks.  Reporting to Myers, Kozak is charged with managing the production of original programming across Discovery Emerging Networks, specifically Science Channel, Investigation Discovery and the Military Channel.

In addition, she is responsible for supervising a team of executive producers and senior producers across the three networks, as well as overseeing editorial management of multiple outside production companies, working closely with program development and programming, and contributing to the strategic planning of each of the three networks.

Kozak has more than 25 years experience as a network executive, series producer, director, event producer and spots journalist.  Most recently, she was senior producer for Discovery Channel where she produced more than 60 hours of content including DESTROYED IN SECONDS, UFO'S OVER EARTH, SCANDALS OF THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS and TWO WEEKS IN HELL.  Previously Kozak served as vice president of production for Discovery Health, and served as senior executive producer for TLC on SAY YES TO THE DRESS, THE REAL EASTATE PROS and A MODEL LIFE WITH PETRA NEMCOVA.

Prior to joining Discovery Communications, Kozak served as series producer for BBC Productions USA with specific responsibility for the first season of TLC's hit series WHAT NOT TO WEAR and three seasons of WHILE YOU WERE OUT.

During the early part of her career Kozak was a producer, director and event producer for Trans World International before starting her own production company.  In the late eighties she specialized in observational documentaries, and directed the acclaimed "Bomb Disposal Man" for BBC1.  She joined the BBC full time in 1993 and produced and directed a wide range of documentaries and factual entertainment series before coming to the United States in 2002.
