TLC Names Top Entertainment Executive Edward Sabin to Chief Operating Officer

(Los Angeles, CA) TLC announced today the appointment of entertainment executive Edward Sabin as Chief Operating Officer of the network. The announcement was made by TLC president and general manager Angela Shapiro-Mathes, to whom Sabin will report.
In the newly created position of COO, Sabin is charged with leading the overall network business strategy, working with ad sales, finance, business/legal affairs, affiliate sales and international. Sabin will also be responsible for TLC's digital and business development.

Sabin was most recently the Group President and Chief Operating Officer of Alchemy Television Group, an international television production and distribution company. In this capacity, Sabin oversaw the company’s operations, finance, business development, business and legal affairs, in addition to sales administration and human resources. Sabin also retained operational oversight over US and UK offices across all programming genres.
Prior to joining Alchemy, Sabin spent over seven years with Fox Television Studios, where he served as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Operations, and, previously, Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs. There, Sabin oversaw the business operations for FtvS’s domestic production groups, as well as structured the company’s new media production business model. Sabin also devised and implemented business models for FtvS’s international production business.
Earlier, Sabin worked at Greenberg Glusker, a full service business and entertainment law firm where he attained the level of partner.
Sabin received both his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is based at TLC’s headquarters in Los Angeles.
