Clark Bunting is currently the president and general manager of Discovery Communications' Emerging Networks, which include Investigation Discovery, Science Channel and Military Channel. Each of these networks reaches approximately 50 million U.S. subscribers.

In his role as president and general manager, Bunting is charged with further developing the networks into robust brand-defining cable properties. He also oversees all aspects of each network's programming, production, development, operations, new media, marketing, communications and research.

Bunting was previously in charge of Discovery Studios, which encompassed the Discovery Production Group, Discovery Films, Discovery Creative Resources and Preditor, the short-form content unit. Discovery Studios produced original productions across Discovery's domestic and international networks and across all varieties of programming genres, including science, health and fitness, animal, nonfiction, lifestyle, current affairs and daytime, as well as, numerous sub-genres.

Prior to overseeing Discovery Studios, Bunting served as executive vice president, Discovery U.S. Networks Group, overseeing the executives, programming, management and operational activities of Travel Channel, Discovery Health, Discovery Kids, Discovery Home, Military Channel, Science Channel and FitTV.

In a previous post as executive vice president and general manager for Discovery Channel, Bunting oversaw a number of trendsetting new series, including American Chopper, Monster Garage, Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters. Bunting also oversaw the production of such landmark specials as Nefertiti Resurrected and Walking With Cavemen - the two highest-rated nonfiction programs of 2003 - and Building The Great Pyramid, Anatomy Of A Shark Bite and Walking With Prehistoric Beasts, among many others.

Bunting launched Animal Planet in 1996 and served as its executive vice president and general manager until 2001. Under his leadership it became one of the fastest-growing cable networks in the history of television.

Bunting began his career at Discovery in 1985 and launched Discovery Channel's annual rite of summer, Shark Week. He joined Discovery from Capitol Hill, where he worked as a legislative assistant.
