Tom Keaveny is the President and Managing Director for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, Keaveny is responsible for all aspects of Discovery’s Singapore-based operations for Asia Pacific, including a portfolio of seven quality non-fiction entertainment brands – Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Turbo, Discovery Science and Discovery HD World – which reach more than 537 million cumulative subscribers in 33 countries. Keaveny is charged with the strategic growth and development of Discovery’s business in the competitive Asia-Pacific marketplace.
Keaveny returned to Asia after a two-year stint as Senior Vice President, Sales and Revenue for Discovery Networks, Latin America based in Miami. He was previously Senior Vice President, Sales and Revenue at Discovery Networks Asia from June 2001 to May 2003 and Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing for Discovery Networks Europe in London prior to that, where he established the Discovery Networks European offices and was involved in its overall business planning and development.
Before joining Discovery, Keaveny worked for Eurosport in London. He started his career working in UK media for Channel 4 Television and ITV.
Keaveny holds an honours degree in Political Theory and Institutions at the University of Liverpool in the UK and is a British citizen.
Keaveny currently sits on the board of directors for the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia.
