Discovery Education is working to help upgrade the technology in America’s schools by partnering with Illinois-based CDW-G to provide “wireless labs” for three U.S. high schools. The eighth annual Win a Wireless Lab Contest received more than 118,000 entries, the highest number since the contest began in 2003, including nearly 7,000 Twitter entries.
The three winning schools are:
- Lee-Davis High School in Mechanicsville, VA
- Wolf Branch Middle School in Swansea, IL
- Wayland-Cohocton Central School in Wayland, NY
Each of these schools will receive a $48,000 state-of-the-art classroom, including 20 laptops or tablet PCs, an interactive whiteboard, a student response system, a projector, a document camera, a video camcorder, and more. Check out this visual depiction of what the classroom will look like and learn more about the great tools these classrooms will be using.
