Discovery Channel’s The Colony began its second season last week, exploring whether a group of colonists can survive and rebuild in a world without electricity, running water, government or outside communication. The series is not a competition, but rather a controlled experiment that places volunteers (ordinary people) in a simulated post-catastrophic environment as a test of their personal will and survival skills. This season, The Colony participants are placed in a scenario of a biological disaster.
In the latest episode, the colonists try to power an engine so they can recharge their power tools in hopes of securing their surroundings. They develop a plan to fuel the engine using pig fat. Can they render their own biofuel? Find out on tonight’s all-new episode of The Colony at 10pm ET/PT.
