‘Dean of Invention’ Explores New Technologies on Planet Green

From space-age robotics and artificial intelligence to biological breakthroughs, what was once science fiction legend is now reality on Planet Green’s Dean of Invention, which premieres tonight at 10pm ET/PT. Hosted by Dean Kamen, a globally renowned inventor with more than 400 patents to his name (including the Segway, the insulin pump and a robotic prosthetic “Luke Arm”), Dean of Invention follows Kamen’s trips around the world in search of the technologies of tomorrow.

In tonight’s episode airing at 10PM ET/PT, Kamen introduces us to medical tools that are molecular in size and asks the question, “Is it possible to develop a medical technology that would let us repair the body at the cellular level?” The show explores a new era of medicine that includes tiny robots with enormous power, including “nanobots” that are able to enter the bloodstream, find cancerous cells without anyone’s guidance, and kill them. In the second episode (airing at 10:30pm ET/PT), Kamen shows us new advancements in prosthetics that are changing the definition of what it means to be disabled.
