Discovery Channel Debuts ‘Rescued: The Chilean Mine Story’ on Thursday

There’s nothing more compelling that real-life drama, which is exactly what Rescued: The Chilean Mine Story (premiering on Thursday, October 28 at 8pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel and at 9pm on Discovery en Español) delivers. The special will delve into how the dedication of man meshed with machine to save the lives of 33 men trapped below ground for 70 days.

Rescued, also airing on Discovery en Español and on Discovery Channel across Latin America, will feature:

  • interviews with the family members of miners;
  • an interview with Andre Sougarett, head of the rescue operation;
  • the activity of the three drilling machines that were used for the rescue operations;
  • the Engineers and technicians in charge of each of the plans ( Plan A, B and C)/each drilling machine;
  • the “control room” of the operation where daily meetings took; and
  • interviews with Chilean President Piñera, mining minister Laurence Golborne and Dr. Michael Duncan from NASA (an advisor to the medical team in charge of the miners when they were trapped).
