In 2010, Discovery Education announced the creation of a new Science Techbook for students in grades K-8, continuing to lead the way as the digital classroom evolves. Since the Techbook’s launch in August 2011, it has been adopted by several states and Techbooks spanning middle school social studies and high school science will be available for the 2012-13 school year.

The team’s hard work has not gone unnoticed, as the K-8 Science Techbook has recently been honored with two awards — a CODiE Award and a Silver Edison Award. The CODiE Awards, presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), recognize excellence in business software, digital content and education technology industries, and the Techbook won in the Best Science/Health Instructional Solution category this week. Last month, the Discovery Education K-8 Science Techbook also was recognized with a Silver Edison Award in the Curriculum/Educational Programs category. The Edison Awards honor the best in innovation and excellence in the development of new products and services, and the Award is a testament to the innovative approach Discovery Education is taking to digital learning.
Congratulations to our Education colleagues and we can’t wait to share news of more game-changing tools and resources!
