The mission of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) is simple: turning ideas into action. Now in its seventh year of bringing together heads of state, Nobel Prize winners and business and NGO leaders, this year’s annual meeting led by President Bill Clinton (Hoya Saxa!) puts the focus on “Designing for Impact” — including individuals, environments and systems.

Today at 12pm ET, our own Bill Goodwyn, CEO of Discovery Education, will participate in a plenary session entitled “The Early Years: An Irresistible Investment Opportunity” moderated by Geeta Rao Gupta, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF. They will be joined by Joyce Banda, President of the Republic of Malawi, Carolyn S. Miles, President and CEO of Save the Children and Jay Naidoo, Chairman of Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) in discussing investing in our children’s health, overall care and education to reap returns including economic growth and reduced long-term social costs.
