Buckle Up for Strange Saturdays on Science Channel

Working on the premiere of a new show, Oddities, was one of my first assignments on the Science Channel social media team. Armed with a flip camera and my iPhone, I ventured to the then-location of Obscura Oddities & Antiques in New York’s East Village to get some face time with Evan, Mike, Ryan and the store, a character in itself. (Note: I sometimes still come across photos from this visit stored in my computer; an image of a mummified cat or a 3 lb. gallstone somehow mixed in with vacation shots and photos of my dog).

Four seasons later, the Oddities crew is back – only this time, they are relocating to a larger store and going on a cross-country Oddities adventure, in search of all of the greatest weird findings across this great nation. Look out for celebrity guest appearances along the way, including a visit from Dita Von Teese.

Ever wonder how the clientele at Obscura Oddities & Antiques use their findings in their homes? Stick around after Oddities for the series premiere of Odd Folks Home, which follows home the country’s weirdest and most obsessed collector for a look at their unimaginable treasures and bizarre lifestyles.

Check out a sneak peek from Odd Folks Home below and don’t miss Strange Saturdays on Science, starting February 9 at 9pm ET/PT.
