Over the past two years, I’ve blogged several times about Inside Story, a breakthrough film initiative from our nonprofit Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership. The pan-African project, created to entertain millions and revolutionize HIV/AIDS education for millions across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, has been screened on several continents, been broadcast across Africa and will continue to reach millions more.
On Tuesday, the winners of the New York Festival’s World’s Best Television & Films competition were announced at NAB, honoring programming from more than 50 countries that reflect today’s global trends and encourage the next generation of storytellers and talent, and we’re happy to report that Inside Story was honored with awards in three categories:
- United Nations Public Information Award (Gold)
- Feature Film (Silver)
- Society and Social Issues (Silver)
Congratulations to the DCGEP, Quizzical Pictures, Director Rolie Nikiwe and the talented cast of Inside Story, and thank you to all of the partners who helped make the film a reality. To experience a bit of the film, watch the trailer below and visit InsideStorytheMovie.org to learn more!
