The 2014 Beta Research Cable Subscriber Study released its results yesterday and Discovery Channel once again ranked #1 among total adults in importance to the enjoyment of cable, marking the 21st year in a row that Discovery Channel has nabbed this honor.
Additionally, Discovery also tied for the #1 spot for both its average perceived value among total adults and as a favorite channel among adults who would definitely switch cable providers if the channel was dropped.
Other notable study results for Discovery Communications’ networks include:
- Discovery Channel ranked #1 (tie) among viewers 18+ for program quality and viewer satisfaction.
- Among adults 25-54, Discovery Channel ranked #1 (tie) as a favorite channel and among viewers of TV on a smartphone/tablet and heavy social media users, ranked #1 for importance to the enjoyment of cable.
- TLC ranked #1 (tie) among females for viewer satisfaction.
- Among viewers 18+, Animal Planet ranked #1 (tie) for program quality and among females and viewers with children, ranked #1 (tie) for viewer satisfaction.
