Science Channel will join Silver Spring’s second annual Maker Faire on Sunday, hosted by Washington D.C. children’s museum KID Museum. Discovery Communications is the lead sponsor of the free festival celebrating innovation and creativity, featuring hands-on science, engineering, electronics, and arts and crafts activities for children and adults.
From 12-5 at the Silver Spring Civic Center, Science Channel will host the How It’s Made: Dream Car Challenge at the fair, giving budding scientists the opportunity to build the fastest possible Lego car and race their derby cars on a 30-foot race track.
Encouraging kids to think about air resistance and weight to build the fastest possible Lego car, derby participants can also win Science Channel prizes. Additionally, fans of the Science Channel show How It’s Made: Dream Cars will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes to learn more about how these incredible machines are designed and created.
You can find more information on the Silver Spring Maker Faire here and we hope to see you on Sunday in Downtown Silver Spring!
