Today, Discovery Digital Networks’ Animalist launched its latest series, Breaking Trail With Coyote Peterson.  The show, launched with three episodes today, follows adventurer and animal enthusiast Coyote Peterson as he explores America’s backyard and the awesome creatures that inhabit it.

Peterson takes viewers on the following adventures:

•  Meet the Only Venomous Lizard in the United States: Viewers are transported to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona and join Coyote in search of the only venomous lizard in the United States, the Gila monster.

• Diving for Snapping Turtles: In this episode, Coyote takes audiences to Blendon Woods Metro Park in Ohio, where he’s been doing research for more than five years on common snapping turtles – his favorite reptile and the creature that spurred his interest in wild animals as a kid.

• Fantastic Fangs on the Worlds Largest Type of Rattlesnake: On the outskirts of the Everglades, Coyote and the crew introduce viewers to an eastern diamondback rattlesnake, a pit viper that is the heaviest venomous snake in the United States.
