Shark Week kicks off on Sunday, July 5 at 8pm ET/CT with Shark Trek, where shark expert Greg Skomal and a team of engineers embark on a mission to find out why great white sightings in Florida are on the rise. Other programming highlights throughout the week include:
- Monster Mako, premiering Sunday, July 5 at 10pm ET/CT: A team of marine biologists set out to clock the top speed of the fastest shark in the ocean – the mako.
- Alien Sharks: Close Encounters, premiering Monday, July 6 at 10pm ET/CT: Deep below the oceans surface live some of the strangest marine animals on earth. Now, three expeditions are exploring those depths for sharks that glow in the dark.
- Tiburones: Sharks of Cuba, premiering Tuesday, July 7 at 10pm ET/CT: A team of shark researchers head to Cuba to explore the most remote shark habitat in the world.
Eli Roth, award-winning film director, producer, writer and actor joins the Shark Week family as the host of Shark After Dark, back for its third consecutive year. The late night companion to Shark Week programs features special guests – including shark fans and experts – who offer commentary and insight into what it’s like to be a part of the event.
