Discovery Channel and Animal Planet Nab Primetime Emmy Nominations

Yesterday morning, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards which will be presented on September 20th at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

Discovery Channel nabbed several nominations including three for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program; Deadliest Catch, Naked and Afraid and Alaska: The Last Frontier. Additionally Discovery Channel’s MythBusters and Animal Planet’s Too Cute received nominations.

In total, Discovery Communications’ networks received eight nominations:

Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program:

  • Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel)
  • Naked and Afraid (Discovery Channel)
  • Alaska: The Last Frontier (Discovery Channel)

Outstanding Sound Mixing For Nonfiction Programming (Single or Multi-Camera):

  • Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel)

Outstanding Picture Editing For Reality Programming:

  • Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel)

Outstanding Cinematography For Reality Programming:

  • Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel)

Outstanding Structured Reality Program:

  • MythBusters (Discovery Channel)

Outstanding Narrator:

  • Henry Strozier, Too Cute! (Animal Planet)
