President & CEO David Zaslav was joined by Rich Ross, Henry Schleiff and Bob Scanlon for updates on Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery and Velocity/Turbo, respectively. Following the U.S. network updates, Discovery Networks International President JB Perrette provided an update on the non-U.S. business, joined by Fernando Medin (EVP & GM, Discovery Latin America – Brazil), Marinella Soldi (President & Managing Director, Discovery Networks Southern Europe) and Peter Hutton (CEO, Eurosport). Chief Development, Distribution & Legal Officer Bruce Campbell followed with an update on Discovery Digital Networks and the company’s OTT and TVE offerings globally.
Additionally, guests had the opportunity to get hands-on with several of Discovery’s multiplatform offerings, including Eurosport Player, Eurosport.com and Dplay. They also were able to experience Discovery VR, a new brand of virtual reality experiences that debuted last month.
The morning wrapped with a surprise appearance by Oprah Winfrey, CEO of OWN; Oprah Winfrey Network, who previewed OWN’s Belief, updates from CFO Andy Warren and an open Q&A.
