This year commemorates the eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, and for the sixth consecutive year, Discovery Communications is partnering with Autism Speaks to “Light It Up Blue.”
To honor the millions affected by autism and to spread awareness of the fastest growing developmental disorder in the world, Discovery has been running a PSA across all of its U.S. networks this week, including Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC, Investigation Discovery and several others. The company, in partnership with ableD and Discovery LifeWorks, is providing employees in several offices around the globe with pamphlets, pins and wristbands on April 1 to encourage awareness and support.
Discovery has also taken the phase ‘light it up blue’ quite literally! Our HQ here in Silver Spring, MD has been shining blue as part of the campaign.
Want to Light It Up Blue (LIUB) with Discovery and the rest of the world? Here’s how you can help show support:
- Wear blue on April 2!
- Post a selfie with #LIUB
- Light your home or business blue!
