For the seventh year, Discovery employees at the company’s global headquarters in Silver Spring, MD are off and running with pro bono projects that will ultimately help over 20 nonprofit organizations in the Washington, DC metro area! In the past, the Creating Change initiative has consisted of a day-long marathon event, but for the first time the projects are extended to three months in order to dive deeper into the projects – which range from branding and creative design to communications strategy, marketing, human resources, facilities planning and more.
Last Friday, the event kicked off with an impactful conference, where more than 100 representatives from charitable organizations attended to hear from subject experts from Discovery and beyond, including an in-depth presentation by the World Wildlife Fund and an exciting peek into the world of Snapchat!
Until the teams reveal their projects in February, Discovery employees are excited to work with their nonprofit partners to utilize their talents outside the workplace, furthering Discovery’s mission to make an impact both on and off the screen.
