What better way to brave this icy weather than with a weekend of Discovery and chill? (That’s a thing, right?!) Anyways, this lineup of weekend programming is one you won’t want to miss. From mind-bending science to side-splitting comedy, here’s what’s coming up starting this evening:

  • Animal Nation with Anthony Anderson (Friday, Feb. 10 at 10PM ET on Animal Planet): Emmy-nominated actor and comedian Anthony Anderson hosts Animal Planet’s all-new weekly talk show, offering everything from viral animal video highlights, discussions about the most buzzed about pop culture phenomena and special celeb guests with their furry companions!
  • The Dark Side of the Sun (Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10PM ET/PT on Discovery Channel): Premiering as the centerpiece of Science Channel Weekend on Discovery Channel, THE DARK SIDE OF THE SUN tells the story of our growing awareness of the true nature of our star, its critical importance to all life on Earth, and its potentially harmful effects on modern civilization. Science Channel will broadcast the film the following evening at 9PM ET/PT. In addition, throughout the weekend, Discovery will air science themed programming including last year’s “Telescope,” “Mythbusters,” “Mythbusters: The Search,” and “What on Earth?”
  • Long Lost Family (Sunday, Feb. 12 at 9PM ET/8PM CT on TLC): Returning for a second season, along with spinoff series “Long Lost Family: What Happened Next,” LONG LOST FAMILY features deeply moving and heartfelt stories of people who have been separated for decades and are longing to be reconnected with lost loved ones. This season will feature those who have been haunted by the sudden disappearance of their parents, siblings that believe in each other’s existence but have never had it confirmed, and parents who yearn to discover what became of the babies they reluctantly had to part with ages ago.

Have a wonderful weekend. Happy viewing!
