The Hub, a television destination for kids and their families, announced today the June 25 launch of the network’s online virtual community, “Club Hub,” on Hubworld.com. “Club Hub” will be a playful and transformative world, where kids can explore endless, play-driven opportunities. The new virtual community will allow users to play a variety of exciting games, solve challenging puzzles, and vote in newsworthy polls in order to personalize their own spaces on the site called “Club Rooms” based on The Hub’s current programming lineup that includes an assortment of popular locales from fan-favorite shows including “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic,” “Fraggle Rock,” “Transformers Prime,” and “Dan Vs.”
Members will be able to build out their online identity by earning “Club Bucks” and other virtual rewards including badges and exclusive online collectables by playing games, watching videos, and redeeming codes that will be found online, on-air, given away at Hub-sponsored events, and included in select retail merchandise.
“Club Hub” features multiple levels designed to encourage players to engage with the site through a regularly updated games library, including games like “Transformers Prime Terrorcon Defense,” “Scrabble Sprint” and “My Little Pony: Adventures in Ponyville.”
Both kids and parents will feel at ease with “Club Hub” since the new virtual community will not request personally identifiable information and instead will encourage kids to create fun usernames — or “Hub Handles” — that add to the playfulness of the site. Hubworld.com is a fully COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) compliant site.
