Ben Price serves as President of national advertising sales for Discovery Communications. Based in New York, Price oversees all advertising sales for Discovery’s suite of U.S. networks, including Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, ID: Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, American Heroes Channel, Destination America, Velocity, Discovery Life Channel, and Discovery Family Channel. He also manages sales efforts for Discovery Digital Media.
Previously, Ben Price served as Executive Vice President of national advertising where he oversaw the LA and regional offices and top west coast client and agency relationships, and most recently moving to New York to take on an expanded role leading the organization and the largest New York agency partnerships.
Price joined Discovery Communications in 1989 as an Account Executive. In 1991, he was named Director of advertising sales, Western region and was promoted the following year to Vice President. In 1994, Ben was promoted to Senior Vice President, ad sales, overseeing Discovery’s regional offices in Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Price began his advertising sales career in 1986 at Turner Broadcasting. Prior to Turner, he worked at Xerox Corporation where he held variety of sales and marketing roles.
Price graduated from San Diego State University and received his MBA from Pepperdine University. He is a board member of thinkLA (Advertising Club of L.A), and an active member of the Hollywood Radio and Television Society. Price is also a board member of the YMCA’s of Southern California and an active volunteer of numerous organizations including Santa Monica Mountains State Park and the City of Hope Cancer Center.
