MythBusters Goes Out with a Bang

We’ve been separating fact from fiction with MythBusters for as long as we can remember, but one thing we know for sure is that Discovery’s longest-running series is signing off with a bang. 248 episodes, 2950 experiments, 1050 myths and 900 explosions later, MythBusters will explode onto screens for one last exhilarating time on Saturday, March 5 at 8:00pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel. Whether you couldn’t get enough of the…

Pumpkins Get Their Wings Again in This Year’s Annual ‘Punkin Chunkin’

Ready and…launch! Much like the way the holidays seem to have come barreling towards us this year, pumpkin after pumpkin will be sent rocketing across the sky in Punkin Chunkin, airing Saturday November 29 at 8pm ET/CT on Science Channel and Discovery. Hosted by Mythbusters own Tory Belleci and Kari Byron, the annual pumpkin-throwing contest is not for the faint of heart; while catapults and slingshots may have been the…

Sahil wowed judges with his ingenious, eco-friendly battery, the PolluCell, which converts carbon dioxide into electricity, helping to reduce our carbon footprint while offering power for household uses and developing nations. A Day of Innovation, Inspiration at the White House Science Fair

The White House, young superstar scientists and a MythBuster – what more could a Discovery kid (at heart) want? Last year, we had the pleasure of bringing the Captains from Discovery’s Deadliest Catch to Texas, and this year Animal Planet is returning in #meow fashion and Science Channel…

Science Prepares a Feast of Premieres Thanksgiving Week

Normally we don’t like to encourage gluttony; however, in the case of Science Channel, you can never have enough — especially with a week full of premieres and time off from work (hopefully) for the Thanksgiving holiday. For starters, tune in tonight, November 20, at 8pm ET/PT for the Science network debut of Fringe — J.J. Abrams’ science-fact thriller that blurs the line between the possible and impossible. Dr. Michio…

Discovery Communicatons Takes On Comic-Con 2012

As a Comic-Con newbie, I was unsure of what to expect when I packed my bags last week. If you’ve never been to San Diego Comic-Con, it’s some parts magic, some parts mayhem, and all parts awesome. The magnitude of the event cannot be overstated, as 130,000 people pack the San Diego Convention Center dressed in costume, waiting in line for hours to see their favorite panels. It’s definitely a…
